Juror Selection Process
The United States District Court for the Southern District of California draws names of prospective jurors from a master wheel created from registered voters, provided by the California Secretary of State, supplemented by the California driver's license for non-AB60 licenses and state ID information, provided by the California Department of Motor Vehicles for both San Diego and Imperial Counties. Names are selected at random using an automated jury management program. This notice is provided pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1864.

The United States District Court for the Southern District of California and the San Diego Chapter of the Federal Bar Association are pleased to present the Seventeenth Annual Judith N. Keep Federal Civil Practice Seminar on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 1:00pm-5:15pm at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter, with a reception to follow.

The annual seminar is dedicated to the memory of former District Judge Judith N. Keep, who served as a United States District Judge in the Southern District of California for over twenty years and as the District's first female Chief Judge from 1991 to 1998. This year's seminar will focus on pretrial and trial practice, including making a record for appeal. The program will include four speaker panels featuring Ninth Circuit Judge John B. Owens and many Southern District of California District Judges and Magistrate Judges.
