The court hereby declares its desire to consider the reappointment of United States Magistrate Judge Cynthia G. Aaron for an additional eight year term, commencing May 24, 2002. For that purpose, the attached public notice shall be published in the San Diego Union, a general local newspaper, and in the San Diego Commerce, a newspaper of general circulation, designated as the official newspaper for publication of all notices.

In accordance with the requirements of § 6.02 of the Regulations of the Judicial Conference of the United States Establishing Standards and Procedures for the Appointment of United States Magistrates, the court appoints, in compliance with §§ 3.01 and 3.02 of said Regulations, the following persons to serve as a Merit Selection Panel:
